Porepunkah Airfield Helipad

The Porepunkah Airfield Association operates a grass airstrip at Porepunkah in North East Victoria. The association was awarded a grant to construct an emergency services helipad to accommodate large air ambulance helicopters up to 8 tonne gross mass. The new helipad would also meet the requirements of Forest Fire Management Victoria as a staging area for crew transport by air to remote emergencies, refuelling and as a base for aerial survey work.

12P Consulting was approached by the Airfield Association to project manage the construction of the helipad in accordance with the Federal Government’s grant conditions, Alpine Shire Council’s planning requirements and the engineering design procured during the grant process.

We assisted the Porepunkah Airfield Association with the procurement of a suitable contractor and provided superintendency services while also providing additional considerations during the design review phase.

The helipad was officially opened by the Alpine Shire Mayor and CEO on the 1st of September 2022.
