Hume dam bathymetric survey
Reservoir bed contours generated from sonar survey
In August 2023, 12P Consulting was engaged by WaterNSW to undertake a bathymetric survey just adjacent to the Hume Weir on Lake Hume. The purpose of the survey was to determine the optimum placement for a fixed mooring which would accommodate water quality sensors and other equipment.
We undertook the investigation using a Surfbee radio controlled boat equipped with a 200kHz echo sounder. The results of the survey were used to generate a contour model of the reservoir floor on a georeferenced PDF that would then allow placement of the mooring in the optimum location.
