Corowa to Mulwala Trail
The Corowa to Mulwala Trail is part of the Murray River Regional Experiences project which is a joint initiative of Albury City, Berrigan Shire and Federation Councils. The project aims to strengthen access to and connection with the Murray River for both residents and visitors. The councils are tasked with projects to improve infrastructure along 60 km of Murry River frontage.
Federation Council is undertaking the Corowa to Mulwala Trail (CMT) and Foreshore Precincts project, which features the construction of a shared use trail linking the townships of Corowa and Mulwala. The combined projects provide an opportunity to encourage exploration along the Murray River and integrate towns and villages across the three LGAs, creating a strengthened interface with the Murray River.
12P Consulting was engaged as the principal project manger for the Corowa to Mulwala Trail. The components of work include;
Initial survey and development of the most feasible trail alignment,
Engineering investigation of local drainage, vegetation removal and identification of facilities, bridges and boardwalks,
Development of the project budget,
Procurement of Cultural Heritage and Biodiversity studies to support the approvals process under the EP&A regulations and OEH Cultural Heritage due diligence guidelines,
Preparation of concept plans for minor and major infrastructure (200m boardwalk, pedestrian bridge and amenities blocks),
Preparation of the signage strategy
Development of the main trail specification (for construction by Council) as well as management of the tender process for the boardwalk and other minor structures and superintendency of the works.
