Recreation Reserve Surveys
12P Consulting recently completed an aerial surveying project for Towong Shire Council in North East Victoria. The project involved the mapping of five recreation reserves across the shire using a Matrice 300 RTK drone and base station. The resulting data was used to create detailed orthophoto images that were used as a base layer for a feature and level survey at each site.
The use of the Matrice 300 RTK drone allowed for highly precise location data to be collected, enabling our team of experienced engineers and drone pilots to capture high-resolution images and data points. These data were then processed and analyzed using advanced software to create the detailed orthophotos and digital elevation model of each site.
The orthophoto images and contours provided a solid base for architects to begin their master-planning process. They were able to use the accurate and detailed plans to develop effective designs that met the needs of the Council. In addition, 3D textured mesh models were provided for each site, allowing the architects to gain a better understanding of the unique features of each reserve, as well as build scale models of the options, without even going to site.
The accurate and detailed information collected by 12P Consulting's team allowed Council managers, engineers and asset managers to make informed decisions regarding the reserves. The precise location data collected by the drone provided the Council with the information they needed to manage and maintain the reserves and plan for the future.
